PACE’s 6th Annual N LA Gay & Lesbian Film Festival Tickets On Sale Aug. 11

Shreveport, LA – August 5, 2014

Tickets will go on sale to the public Monday, August 11 for PACE’s 6th annual North Louisiana Gay & Lesbian Film Festival to be held at the Robinson Film Center in downtown Shreveport, LA, September 5-11, 2014.

Matt Shepard Is a Friend of Mine is a new documentary framed through the personal lens of friends and family about the life and tragic death of Matthew Shepard, a victim of one of the nation’s most heinous hate crimes. Judy Shepard has since become an activist speaking to audiences nationwide about ways they can make their schools and communities safer for everyone, regardless of race, sex, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression: “We realize that we must use the voice his death has given us.”

Another special event for this year’s festival will take place Saturday, September 6th with the 7:15 pm showing of the award-winning romantic comedy “The Ten Year Plan” followed by a Q & A with the writer/director J. C. Calciano and actors Matthew Hamilton and Jack Turner (

Other films screening during the week-long festival beginning Friday, September 5th at 1 pm are The Circle, Open Up to Me, To Be Takei, Camp Beaverton: Meet the Beavers, Campaign of Hate: Russia and Gay Propaganda, The Dog, The Foxy Merkins, Appropriate Behavior, and an evening of short films on Wednesday, September 10 starting at 7:15 pm.
